I’ve taught A-Level Psychology for six years, both in the classroom and one-to-one. A lot of my students come to me because they know the content but lose marks on longer answers. We spend plenty of time looking at what a question is really asking and how to use evidence properly. Research methods is probably my favourite area to teach, particularly when students realise it’s much less complicated than it first appears.

Hi, I’m a Psychology tutor with four years of experience working with A-Level students. I’m a bit of a biopsychology nerd, so I genuinely enjoy teaching neurons, brain localisation and biological explanations! Lessons are usually quite relaxed, but we get through plenty of work. I use past questions regularly and I’m happy to go over the same idea in a few different ways when something just isn’t sticking.

My background is in psychological research, and I have been tutoring A-Level Psychology alongside this for the past five years. I particularly enjoy research methods, memory and approaches in psychology. I’m quite methodical in lessons: we establish whether the issue is knowledge, application or evaluation, then work from there. I also mark essays with students so they can see exactly where an answer gains or drops marks.

I started tutoring Psychology after finishing my degree and have now worked with A-Level students for three years. I remember finding evaluation paragraphs strangely difficult as a student, so that’s something I spend quite a bit of time on. I like using real studies and everyday examples rather than just reading definitions from a textbook. Most sessions finish with a question or short essay so we can put the topic into practice straight away.

I’m a qualified teacher and have taught A-Level Psychology for eight years. My main interests are social influence and psychopathology, although I cover the full course. I’m particularly useful for students approaching mocks or final exams who need to turn their knowledge into stronger written answers. We look closely at command words, essay planning and evaluation, and I give straightforward feedback rather than rewriting answers for students.

Psychology has been my subject since A-Level and I still find it fascinating, especially memory and attachment. I’ve tutored for around four years and tend to work with Year 12 and Year 13 students who want extra support outside school. I’m not a fan of memorising pages of notes without understanding them, so I use diagrams, little recall tests and lots of exam questions. I’ll also happily spend a whole session fixing one stubborn topic if needed.
